Tough Call is one of Rockwell's best known pieces, with the painting featuring three umpires looking up toward the sky deciding whether or not to call a game because of rain. The Austin family that put the work up for auction had thought they just had a print of the work before they had it examined. Rockwell, who died in , painted cover illustrations for the Saturday Evening Post magazine for almost five decades.
