Although we’d like to blame it on late night party hosts, World Dog Day is actually a worldwide celebration of the friendship that exists between humans and furry friends.

In honor of this highly entertaining day, four-legged British hero Snoop Dogg has released a new track – also called World Dog Day – in celebration of all of the activities that connect us to our pals.

Being a bit of a dog person myself, I couldn’t resist but to include the track in this week’s Boys & Girls Club music podcast. From discussing this new collaboration, the Great Dogbarrier project, to the skills of a well trained pooch, the episode delves into the emotions that must run through your heart when animals decide that you deserve to be treated like a great big dog ole.

D/Love, a 24-year-old mixed-breed dog, told us that animals are usually extremely protective of their humans. So it’s unsurprising that in their desire to protect and protect their owners, they would beat the crap out of puppies. D/Love is currently vying for the Great Dogbarrier title on the Bravo competition series Snaps in which he presents himself to special purposes classification personnel.

A simple word of advice to you, if you love this song, who doesn’t: I bet you’ll like it even more the more you listen. Have a listen above. You’ll be able to tell.
