LOS ANGELES — Grammy-winning singer Adele is giving her fans what they’ve been waiting for: a televised concert special featuring six original songs.
“An Audience With Adele,” airing in January, will take place at London’s 02 Arena and features the artist performing in front of an audience of more than 7,000 fans in front of a performance center set design that includes a diamond.
The show will be produced by Red One and Richard Russell, the manager of the three biggest-selling artists of the past five years (the likes of Adele, Kanye West and Taylor Swift).
Adele will deliver a special version of the tour-opening song “When We Were Young” as well as a brand-new song, “River Lea.” She’ll also perform new songs “Not Another Day,” “Sunday Girl” and “How Great Is Our Love.”
“I love everything about this experience,” Adele said in a statement. “I’m gonna keep you on your toes and at the edge of your seats. Who knows, it might even leave you a little speechless.”
“That’s exactly what I want,” added Russell. “I want an audience with amazing human beings.”
Russell is also Adele’s label mate, and he managed Amy Winehouse, whose death in 2011, at the age of 27, rocked the music world.
This is the second Adele concert special to air on CBS. “The Live In Concert: Adele At the Royal Albert Hall” was the first.
